The Double Ax or Labrys was a popular religious and ceremonial symbol at Knossos, the ancient city in the island of Crete. In our time the Double Ax is a feminist symbol of strength and self-sufficiency. Our Museum replica Double Axes, are hand crafted of bronze and oxidized while still in hot state and have a permanent stain. There is a design , called the Cretan Key, on both sides of the Ax. The size is 7 5/16" high and about 5 1/2" wide.
